Indeed, the BackerKit pledge manager surveys have started to go out to backers. An initial test portion of 5% of you will receive your surveys over the next 24 hours. Provided all is well with this test, the remaining surveys will be sent out on Friday May 26th. The pre-order store will also open at that time.

Die Sample and BackerKit Next Week!

What’s got four sides and glows? This die!

Oh, you’ve heard that one? Yeah, well, sorta.

That’s right, test copies of the Limited Edition die have come in and have met our resounding approval! Check them out!

When the lights are on, unassuming but still slightly creepy bone colored custom d4s. . 

Turn out the lights and you get super creepy retro eerie green colored custom d4s!

It’s like the creepy RPG cereal prize you always wanted, but without the monster-themed cereal! Sorry about the cereal – we got hungry.

Anyway, super stoked about how these turned out and how well they fit into the packaging. Note the white box packing sample pictured with the dice. It’s all coming together!

BackerKit Next Week

Finally for this update, just letting all of you wonderful backers know that we will be opening our BackerKit page early next week where you can add all the extra d4s you desire (especially the coveted four-sided d2s). We'll post another update next week when the surveys are sent out with the lock order date and more info.

Thank you to our backers! All 1,042 of you!

Thanks to your amazing support and enthusiasm, Portents of the Degloved Hand is now on its way to becoming a part of your future Mörk Borg sessions.

So, what’s next? Well, for starters, this project will be migrating over to BackerKit where any and all of the Add-Ons you desire can be, well, you know … added on.

Anyway, some other things to look forward to in the coming months:

A reveal of the final STL file all our backers will be getting access to.
Previews of the digital deck and digital GM Guide.

Photos and videos of physical proofs of both the Standard and Limited Decks.

And probably some other stuff, but we’re on like no sleep right now.

It’s been quite a ride. Thanks so much for joining us on this journey.

Good Morning, Galgenbeck!

So, today we’re circling back around to the third Stretch Goal for this campaign, which is a sticker that our wonderful backers unlocked.

Is this a reference from any of the cards in Portents of the Degloved Hand? No, not directly. However, as a way to illustrate how this deck of Portents works, we’re delighted to present this little scene and bring it back around to the sticker all of our backers will be receiving.

We’re excited about the end of the campaign and the next phase of moving this project over to BackerKit (more on that in a later update)! It won’t be too long before you’ll be holding your own copy of Portents of the Degloved Hand (preferably with a hand that isn’t degloved).

Final Deck Reveal...DEATH

Deck of Death

The end is nigh. Time to hide. . .

Well, ghoulish backers, this campaign is almost over. Thanks to all of you for making it a success. With the end in sight, it’s only fitting that we focus this update on the Deck of Death.

Let’s start with a disturbing little Portent called “Familiar Mask”.

It reads as follows:
“For the remainder of the day, a death mask appears on your face that resembles your enemies during combat. Automatic initiative. DR-2 to all combat Agility rolls for 1d4 hours.
You no longer have a face, revealing a living skull. The mask turns to ash at the end of day.”

This is a fun card that, depending on how vain your character is, may not even have a downside. You wear a fearsome mask for a day, giving you initiative and improved defense rolls.

OK, so afterward you look, well, like death. What’s the big deal?

Next we have a delicious Portent that you can . . . share.

“Don’t Fear” reads like an ‘80s metal ballad:
“Take the hand of a companion who is Broken, giving both of you d4 HP.

Any damage taken by either of you is now shared equally until one of you dies, in which case, you both die.”
That’s right, this Portent is really a Death Pact to rescue a fellow character that is in the Broken condition. Enjoy it while you can.

Last but not least, is a Portent destined to be a game table favorite. Introducing “Shallow Grave”.

The Portent reads as follows:
“Move instantly up to 120 feet from where you are.

You are now also d4 feet underground.
Strength DR16 for each foot underground to dig yourself out.

Each fail results in 1 HP damage.”

Yep, with this card, you can just bail on everyone to save your own skin. . . Provided your Strength rolls don’t suck and your Hit Points are more than your d4 roll. Heh.
GM Note: Drag out the misery. Make the player roll once per playing round for each attempt to dig themselves out. Make them sweat under all that filthy earth. . .

We hope you enjoyed this grim but entertaining update and we hope it makes you look forward to the misery you can inflict in future Mörk Borg sessions.
