MÖRK BORG Omen Sacrifice Deck

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Digital Deck Release!
about 1 year ago – Thu, Oct 05, 2023 at 03:18:35 PM

Hail and well met!

OK – pretty sure nobody says that in Mörk Borg.

Anyway, the time has come to deliver to you, our generous backers, the digital version of the Portents of the Degloved Hand deck. This file is pretty simple in that it is designed to be used mainly by players. The GM Guide was released a couple of updates back, so hopefully you’ve already downloaded that and have made yourself familiar with it. The digital deck is now available in your BackerKit account!

In the meantime, we are excited to share not only the digital version of Portents of the Degloved Hand (start using it now!), but we’re now ready to reveal a few details about the second Omen Sacrifice Deck . . . Portents of a Dying God!

This second Portents deck promises to be a lot of fun. The mechanics are similar but slightly different, it’s a single deck of 33 cards that will bring more calamity to your table, and it comes in a package that is both functional and fun to use.

Portents of a Dying God will also include a one-shot your players will never forget (or forgive you for). Complete with rich lore and new creatures to encounter in the dark woods of Sarkash!

More details and images to come!

If you need any assistance with your pledge or have any questions, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Until the next update, thanks!

Fire up your 3D printers!
about 1 year ago – Tue, Sep 12, 2023 at 12:24:47 PM

Early in the development of this Mörk Borg supplement, the idea emerged around some type of creepy, physical display of the Degloved Hand that backers could own. Whether for the purposes of displaying the unique coffin-shaped box or as a device to display which Portent has been drawn after sacrificing an Omen – it seemed like something worth pursuing.

We landed on a display piece that would provide the following functions: display the Portents of the Degloved Hand box packaging, allow players to display the Portent they have access to in a dramatic way, and also act as a place to store the unique d4 dice that come with the box set.

The final sculpt created by the extremely talented David-Lee Whitaker, a veteran of RPG miniature sculpting, delivered everything we had hoped for.

The .STL comes in three pieces and has been thoroughly tested using a variety of printers, both resin and filament without any issues attributable to the files themselves.

If you don’t have access to a 3D printer, there are a number of professional services in the market and most communities have maker spaces with access to prosumer or better 3D printers. The glow-in-the-dark filament print pictured below was generated by a maker space run by our local public library at a very affordable price.

If you plan on painting your sculpt, we do recommend going with a resin print, if possible.

Here are some photos from a couple of resin prints that Portents of the Degloved Hand creator Matt Johnson painted:

We hope you take advantage of using these 3D files – they wouldn’t be available without your support for this project. If you do end up printing and/or painting a sculpt, we’d love to see how yours turned out! Share on Instagram and tag @exaltedfuneral and @raven_portents so we can share your gnarly masterpieces!

The STL is seperated into three files, so you will see links to download STL File 1, 2, and 3.  Here is the link to access your BackerKit Survey and the digital files:

The release of the digital deck is coming in the near future, along with some sneak peeks into the next Omen Sacrifice Deck already far in development — Portents of a Dying God!

Until the next update, thanks!

Digital GM Guide NOW AVAILABLE!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Aug 17, 2023 at 01:16:03 PM

GM Guide is here!

So, why is the digital GM Guide being released before the digital deck?

It’s a great question, and the answer lies in the fact that there’s a GM Guide in the first place.

Basically, we want you to use Portents of the Degloved Hand in your MÖRK BORG sessions as much as possible and one of the best ways to do that is to walk you, the GM, through the deck and get you thinking about it. A guide like this isn’t the norm with rpg products like this, or if they do exist, they tend to come along after the original product’s release. Within a few weeks, you will be able to download a digital deck to use with your players. In the time between now and then, we hope you take the time to peruse this guide and get excited about how it may impact your future sessions.

The GM Guide is being sent to backers through BackerKit and is available by clicking the "Get Your Digital Downloads" button at the end of your survey. To access your survey go to  https://portents-of-the-degloved-hand.backerkit.com/ . Any questions please reach out to us at [email protected]

Project Progress

Things are moving along well with the project as a whole. Final print production files have been submitted and are being approved. We anticipate the full manufacturing run to begin in the near future. Meanwhile, “Good Morning Galgenbeck” stickers are being ordered, and we’re waiting for a proof of the poster.

The next update will likely be about the Degloved Hand sculpt and we’re really excited about how it turned out! Get your 3D printers ready to go! We’re pretty sure you’ll be as stoked as we are when you see it!

For those of you who follow Raven Portents (@raven_portents) or Exalted Funeral (@exaltedfuneral) on Instagram, you may have seen that a second Omen Sacrifice Deck is in the works. As this project wraps up, we’ll be sharing more with you about the next one. So, get on Insta and check it out!

Thank you so much for your support of this project. It really has been a great experience so far and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Official Prototype Unboxing Video!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Jul 17, 2023 at 10:08:28 AM

Let’s Open This Coffin!

So, it's been a little while since you’ve heard from us but as you’ll soon see, it’s largely because we’ve been pretty busy.

Things are really coming together and to demonstrate what we mean, we have a very exciting unboxing video of a physical proof of the standard deck to share with you. In the coming month, we’ll have a few other similar items to share, but let’s not waste anymore time and get to it!

(Note, video does not contain audio.)

So, this is a proof and in the process of reviewing it, we did identify a few things that require attention. However, they’re fairly minor and once they’re addressed, it should be a green light to move forward with full production.

This was a blind unopening, and being a proof from the print production side, you will likely notice that the two d4 dice are missing. With the final production and packaging, this will not be the case. Production copies of the dice that should be included appear at the end of the video to show how the final product all comes together and should be delivered.

Homemade prototype left, manufacturer prototype right.

Thank you!
